Player, pitcher of week

Orleans' Chris Pettit (Loyola Marymount) has been named Coca Cola Player of the Week after hitting .400, two home runs, a whopping .867 slugging percentage and six RBI for the Orleans Cardinals.

Derrick Lutz (George Washington) of Chatham was Coca Cola Pitcher of the Week. In three appearances, Lutz posted two saves and 11 strikeouts while giving up only four hits over five innings pitched. Most impressively, Lutz's ERA over this period was 0.00.

AROUND THE CAPE LEAGUE HORN:The award-winning documentary on the CCBL, "Touching the Game," will be shown at the Woods Hole Film Festival at 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1.
