2024 Cape League Schedule Announced12/18/2023 8:23 AM Article By: CCBL Public Relations Office Cape League Reveals 2024 Schedule Cape Cod, MA – The Cape Cod Baseball League (Cape League) today announced its 2024 schedule, which will begin with a full slate of games on Saturday, June 15th. Teams will each play a 40-game regular season schedule, with no scheduled doubleheaders. Divisional opponents will face each other five times, while cross-divisional opponents will face each other four times. Each Cape League team will host their home opening game during the first weekend, a home game on either July 3rd or July 4th, and two home games in August. The balanced schedule will give fans equal opportunities to watch their favorite team throughout the season. “Optimizing our 2024 schedule will allow us to play more games during the height of the summer season, while bringing more stability to our team rosters,” said Eric Zmuda, Commissioner of the Cape League. The Opening Day games on June 15th will be highlighted by a rematch of last year’s Cape League Championship Series, as the defending champion Bourne Braves host the Orleans Firebirds. Last year’s Cape League Championship Series had over 17,000 fans in attendance over the three-game series. The annual Cape League All-Star Game will return to Guv Fuller Field, home of the Falmouth Commodores, for the first time since 2003 on Saturday, July 27th. It will mark the eighth time Guv Fuller Field will host the Cape League All-Star Game. “After celebrating our Centennial year in 2023 as one of the founding teams of the Cape Cod Baseball League, the Falmouth Commodores are honored to be hosting the 2024 All-Star game at Guv Fuller Field,” said Bob Curtis, President of the Falmouth Commodores. “The franchise welcomes the opportunity to showcase the recent renovations at Guv Fuller Field and celebrate the best amateur baseball players in the country.” A notable change to the 2024 Cape League season will be an adjusted playoff format. The top four teams in each division will qualify for the Cape League playoffs. Teams will play a single-elimination game in the opening round of the playoffs. The second round and Cape League Championship Series will be best-of-three series. The playoffs are scheduled to begin Tuesday, August 6th and conclude by Monday, August 12th.
