HYANNIS – The Cape Cod Baseball League is proud to announce a new partnership with Rockland Trust.
This sponsorship is unique because Rockland Trust is the first sponsor of the Cape League Hall of Fame and Museum. And, as luck would have it, the museum is located across the street from Rockland Trust’s main branch on Main Street in Hyannis.
To recognize Rockland Trust in a major way, a stunning sign – handcrafted by Sign-a-rama in South Yarmouth – will be unveiled at the museum at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 5. Joanne Stelma, assistant vice president and branch manager in Hyannis, will be on hand for the unveiling.
Also making its inaugural appearance is the new travel display created by Curator Dan Dunn. This display will feature Cape League memorabilia and will travel among Rockland Trust’s branches on the Cape.
“At Rockland Trust, we are committed to supporting local community organizations in our neighborhoods, including the Cape Cod Baseball League, which is a summer staple throughout Cape Cod,” Stelma said. “We are thrilled to be partnering with the league and proud to be the first sponsor of the Cape League Hall of Fame and Museum, which houses some of the region’s greatest sports memorabilia."
Rockland Trust is also the first ever presenting sponsor of the Hall of Fame ceremony to be held on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Chatham Bars Inn. Eight new members of the 2013 class will be inducted and their plaques unveiled in the museum that same weekend.
“We are pleased and very grateful to have Rockland Trust’s support as we enter the 129th season of the nation’s best college summer baseball, right here on Cape Cod,” said Judy Walden Scarafile, president of the Cape Cod Baseball League. “This league brings the community together through the love of baseball, and offering wholesome family entertainment at no charge. We are excited to have such a great community partner in Rockland Trust to help make it all possible. Their support of our museum and induction ceremony is very significant.”
Friday's unveiling will take place in the Hall of Fame and Museum, located at the lower level of the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum.
