HYANNIS – The first ever Celebrity Softball Game Friday, July 21, as part of Cape Cod Baseball League and Spaulding Rehab Hospital/Cape Cod's All-Star Weekend, continues to build excitement with an expanding roster of stars.

     Two Red Sox legends have been added: southpaw Bill Lee ("The Spaceman") and 1967's Impossible Dream Team hurler Jose Santiago. They join former Red Sox catcher and Cape League Hyannis team alum Jason Varitek, Olympic ice skating medalist Nancy Kerrigan and Scott Zolak, former New England Patriots quarterback, 98.5 Sports Hub Host and Patriots radio analyst.

     Advance ticket sales for the July 21-22 All-Star Weekend to benefit Cape Cod Baseball League and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital/Cape Cod are available at until 5 p.m. Thursday, July 20. Fans can save $5 per ticket by purchasing early online. Adult tickets will increase to $30 and children's (ages 4-12) tickets will increase to $15. Children age 3 and under are free. Tickets are non-refundable. The event takes place rain or shine.

     The weekend starts with the Celebrity All-Star Softball Game Friday, July 21, at 6 p.m. at McKeon Park, 120 High School Road, Hyannis. A Kids Clinic takes place at 4 p.m. where children age 12 and under can participate in a one-hour clinic to learn the skills of baseball from the professionals and participate in kid-friendly contests. The Celebrity Softball Pre-Game Kids Clinic costs $25 and all kids will receive an All-Star Weekend T-shirt and automatic admission into the Celebrity Softball Game.  

     After the softball game, an After Party takes place at 8 p.m. at Cape Cod Maritime Museum, 135 South St., Hyannis, where attendees get to meet some of the celebrities from the game. Tickets for the Celebrity Softball Post-Game After Party are $50.

     The festivities continue Saturday, July 22, as the best of the Cape League’s East and West Divisions face off in Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game at Spillane Field, Wareham. Come early for the Home Run Hitting Contest and autograph sessions with Cape League players; gates open at 2 p.m.  The  Cape League All-Star Game gets under way at 6 p.m.

     Other celebrities announced for the softball game include HGTV and DIY network personality Chris Lambton (also of “The Bachelorette” fame) and wife Peyton; 98.5 Sports Hub radio personality Matt McCarthy, Real World New Orleans cast member Ashlee Feldman, state Rep. Tim Whelan, former pro hockey player Dean Melanson, Hot 96.9 radio personality Ramiro, Barnstable Police Chief Paul MacDonald, NBC Boston/NECN traffic reporter Natasha Verma, author and Boston Marathon bombing survivor Roseann Sdoia, and former WBZ-TV personality Scott Wahle. Participants are subject to change.

     Sports team mascots are also joining the fun: Boston Red Sox mascots Wally the Green Monster and Tessie, Boston Bruins Mascot Blades, and Hyannis HarborHawk’s own Ozzie.

     All-Star Weekend is a fund-raiser for Cape Cod Baseball League and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Cape Cod. Proceeds from the events will go to support the care and research programs such as pediatrics and stroke among others at Spaulding Cape Cod as well as support the operations of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
