CAPE COD, Mass. – For the third straight season, the top college baseball players in the country will be showcasing their talent at the most historic and recognizable ballpark in the world.

The Cape League selected its elite team today, with the Brewster Whitecaps and Bourne Braves leading the way with six all-stars apiece heading into the 49th annual Jordan’s Furniture Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star game, July 29 at Fenway Park.

Starting on the mound for the East will be Harwich’s Taylor Rogers (Kentucky), with Ryan Eades (LSU) getting the starting nod in Bourne for the West. Eades has maintained a sub-1.00 ERA all season, currently second in the league with a 0.86. He slipped out of the leader’s spot for the first time this past week. Rogers boasts 22 strikeouts and a 1.73 ERA in five games.

Leading the East in selections, Brewster is represented this year by pitchers Austin Voth (Washington), JT Chargois (Rice) and Tony Bucciferro (Michigan State). They’ll find defensive support from second baseman Ryan Jones (Michigan State) and outfielders Andrew Toles (Tennessee) and Pointstreak player-of-the-week Jason Monda (Washington State).

Orleans’ Tyler Johnson (Stony Brook) joins the pitching staff as well, with a team-high 1.65 ERA in seven appearances. His teammate, Trevor Gott (Kentucky) has also been selected, thanks to his 0.60 ERA in 13 appearances, as well as his 20 strikeouts.

Offensively, YD’s .300+ Stephen Piscotty (Stanford), James Ramsey (Florida State), and Cody Keefer (UCLA), and homerun leader Ben Waldrip (Jacksonville State) from Orleans will be looked at to propel the East ahead of the West. Waldrip, who will hold down first base, has six home runs this season.

Along with Rogers, Harwich sends battery mate Luke Voit (Missouri State), fellow pitchers Chris Overman (NC State) and Carter Capps (Mount Olive), and utility fielder Jabari Henry (Florida International), whose 17 RBI and four home runs put him in the top ten in the league in both categories.

In the West, Eades will be joined by Braves teammates Josh Conway (Coastal Carolina), John Farrell (William Mary), Patrick Cantwell (Stony Brook), Colin Moran (UNC), and Travis Jankowski (Stony Brook). Jankowski has been a late-addition gem for Bourne, contributing 46 hits, 21 RBI, and a .343 average to the team. He leads his team in all three categories.

Cotuit’s flame-throwing Bobby Wahl (Mississippi), veteran short stop Deven Marrero (Arizona State), and hitting-phenom Victor Roache (Georgia Southern) also got All-Star nods. Roache has been flirting with the Triple Crown this season, two home runs shy of leading outright in all three categories.

Hyannis’s Scott Firth (Clemson), who currently leads the league with a 0.82 ERA, is joined by catcher Kevin Plawecki (Purdue), infielder Eric Stamets (Evansville), outfielder Joey Rickard (Arizona), and fellow pitcher Dietrich Enns (Central Michigan).

Scott Pickler of the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox will be field manager for the East Division, with Harvey Shapiro of the Bourne Braves piloting the West.

For the first time, Comcast SportsNet New England will televise the CCBL All-Star Game from Fenway Park in Boston. The telecast will also be carried on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Comcast SportsNet California, Comcast SportsNet MidAtlantic, The Mtn and CSS, reaching an estimated 34 million homes. Eric Frede and Lou Merloni return to handle play-by-play and analyst duties. Air time will be 7 p.m. with first pitch set for 7:07.

The CCBL All-star Game will be also be broadcast on WCAI, the Cape and Islands NPR station, with former major league announcer Jerry Trupiano and John Garner of the CCBL providing commentary.

Tickets are general admission and priced at only $10. To purchase tickets, fans can log on to or call (877) REDSOX-9. Fans with disabilities may call (877) REDSOX-9 to purchase accessible seating (while supplies last). The Red Sox’ TTY number for hearing-impaired fans is (617) 226-6644.
