Article By:We are now just over the halfway point of our 2010 season and we have been blessed with exceptional weather and superb baseball. All ten teams have been extremely competitive with little separation between first place and last place.
The parity in the Cape Cod Baseball League this year has been simply exceptional. Our last week of the season will undoubtedly be the most competitive in recent memory as jockeying for the last playoff positions will be intense.
Our annual All-Star Game this year will be held again at Fenway Park on July 28th at 7PM. Tickets are still available for only $10 with open seating. When was the last time you can remember getting prime seating at Fenway Park for only $10. The seats will be first come, first served and all indications are that the crowd could exceed 20,000. Last year over 14,000 hearty souls braved the elements to see the Western Division All-Stars nip the Eastern Division All-Stars in a rain-soaked contest.
Recently, Team USA announced their collegiate summer baseball team. The roster is made up of 22 players, and 20 of those players have ties to the Cape Cod Baseball League at one time or another. This is further evidence of the CCBL bringing in the finest group of NCAA student-athletes in the nation.
Our tireless volunteers continue to deliver exceptional service and community spirit to our fans and franchises. The amount of work that these volunteers produce is the epitome of the Cape Cod Baseball League. The rapid growth we have enjoyed over the past ten years could not have been achieved without the dedication and contributions of these unique pillars of the community.
Our fans continue to appreciate wholesome, family entertainment that we are so pleased to offer. Just seeing how much the fans appreciate their visit to any one of our ten ballparks makes what we do all that more worthwhile.
