BROCKTON, Mass. – Tickets are now on sale now for the first City of Champions Cape Cod Baseball Hall of Fame Classic to be played June 28 at Campanelli Stadium. The general admission tickets are priced at $4 for adults and $2 for children under 12.

The official, regular season game will match 2007’s Cape Cod Baseball League champions, the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, against the runner-up Falmouth Commodores, with all proceeds from ticket sales going to support the new Cape League Hall of Fame, currently under construction in the John F. Kennedy Museum on Main Street, Hyannis. It is scheduled to start at 6:05 p.m. and will be preceded by gala opening ceremonies featuring Cape League stars of the past with ties to the Brockton area.

Once the Cape League’s 2008 season gets under way on the weekend of June 13-15, tickets will be available before and during Y-D Red Sox home games at Red Wilson Field in South Yarmouth and Commodore home games at Arnie Allen Diamond, Guv Fuller Field, Falmouth.

Fans in the Brockton area have several options for purchasing tickets. They may buy them in person at the stadium box office near Gate 8 or they may order over the phone by calling 508-559-7070. Online buyers may go directly to the Brockton Rox web site, www.brocktonrox.com, click on “Tickets” in the bar near the top, then on “Single Game” and scroll down until reaching the June 28 Cape Cod game. A more direct online route is to click on the following hyperlink: http://www.brocktonrox.com/tickets/single/

The Jimmy Fund’s ongoing battle against cancer in children will also be spotlighted during the game. Jimmy Fund donation canisters will be strategically located throughout the stadium, and a silent auction will be held featuring items donated by Major League Baseball players who started their careers in the Cape League.
