Cape Cod Baseball League Teams to Assist
Salvation Army with Holiday Bell-Ringing

HYANNIS, Mass. – The Cape Cod Baseball League will once again assist the Salvation Army with its Red Kettle Christmas Campaign during the holiday season on Cape Cod.

     Sixty percent of the Salvation Army’s annual operational budget is funded by the Red Kettles campaign, which provides food, toys and clothing to more than six million people during the Christmas season and helps more than 34 million Americans recover from personal and natural disasters. 

     The campaign raises more than $100 million annually in communities nationwide, with nickels, dimes, quarters and dollars remaining in the towns where the money was deposited into kettles.

     The Cape League Christmas Tree, part of the annual Spectacle of Trees, will be on display during the Hyannis Stroll. The Christmas Tree, called "Christmas in the Dugout... and in the End Zone." will be on display at the JFK Hyannis Museum starting Thursday at noon and continuing through Saturday night. The winner will be selected Saturday at 8 p.m.

     The JFK Hyannis Museum will also host the entire Spectacle of Trees and raffle tickets will be on sale for the Cape League’s tree. Raffle proceeds will support the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame & Museum.
