Commissioners Corner - 2013 End of Season Report08/28/2013 8:50 PM Article By: Paul Galop Congratulations to the Cotuit Kettleers, who earned the prestigious Arnold Mycock Trophy signifying champions of the 2013 CCBL playoffs in what proved to be extremely exciting in front of extraordinary crowds. It was especially gratifying to have legendary Cotuit executive Arnold Mycock, after whom this championship trophy is named, on the field for the post-game celebration to join in presenting the championship trophy to field manager Mike Roberts, general manager Bruce Murphy and Cotuit President Paul Logan. It was a very special night in CCBL playoff history and the classy Orleans Firebirds, the Kettleers' formidable final-round opponents, could not have been more gracious hosts. This affable and professional behavior displayed by Orleans has become commonplace during the complete CCBL playoffs, another reason we continue to attract the cream of the crop of young student-athletes from across America. The Bourne Braves were presented with the Commissioner’s Cup prior to the playoffs for the third time in 10 years. This award recognizes professional behavior and integrity on and off the field by the entire Bourne organization, lad by Manager Harvey Shapiro, General Manager Chuck Sturtevant and President Nicole N. Norkevicius. Great job by the entire Bourne franchise! Sincere thanks should go out to so many folks who made our 2013 season so successful and enjoyable. Some of those people and groups include but are not limited to: • Our incredible volunteers that basically sacrifice their entire summers to make this all happen. Our success would simply be impossible without all volunteers. Please continue to visit our website (www.capecodbaseball.org) for updates throughout the winter as teams are already signing players for the summer of 2014. We will occasionally post rosters so you can follow your favorite team and the players who will be coming to Cape Cod next summer. Thanks you for making this national jewel called the Cape Cod Baseball League the standard and model for excellence in collegiate summer baseball. June 2014 will be here before you know it and we are as excited as you to be ready for more baseball! Best wishes! Paul A. Galop, Commissioner
