Hyannis Mets announce 2002 Schedule
 Includes 20 Games at McKeon
 
with single games at Nantucket and Sandwich
Hy-Line Cruises and the Community Bank BANK are presenting sponsors

  
    Hyannis, MA - 
The Hyannis Mets of the Cape Cod Baseball League have announced their schedule for the 2002 season.

    The Mets play 44 regular season games, including 20 home games at McKeon Field on High School Road in Hyannis and single contests on Nantucket Island and Sandwich High School.

    Keith Stohr, who served as the team’s pitching coach and summer camp coordinator the past two summers, has been elevated to field manager. He and GM John Howitt have compiled a pre-season roster of 23 top players from major college programs across the country.

    Hyannis, which finished runners-up to league champion Brewster in 2000 but finished last in the Western Division In 2001, welcomes the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the season-opener on Friday, June 14.

    The Mets will voyage to Nantucket Island on Saturday, June 22 to host the Falmouth Commodores in the “Nantucket Challenge,” a 1 p.m. contest to be played at the new Tom Nevers Babe Ruth Field. The Mets and Commodores will hold Little League and Babe Ruth Clinics for the Nantucket youth preceding the game at 10:30 am. Hy-Line Cruises is a presenting sponsor, along with Nantucket Bank and AK Diamonds. 

    Hyannis will host the Bourne Braves on Monday, June 24 at 7 p.m. in “Cape Cod Baseball League Comes to Sandwich,” to be played at Sandwich High School. The Community Bank in Sandwich is the presenting sponsor. 

    The Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game is scheduled for Saturday, July 27 at Whitehouse Field in Harwich. The CCBL Playoffs begin Thursday, August 8 with the top two teams in each division playing a best two-out-of three format and then the two winners meeting in the league championship’s best two-out-of-three series.
