KENT, OH - TRZ Sports and the TEAMLINE service is proud to announce that three Cape Cod Baseball League teams have joined the TEAMLINE service for the 2002 season. Anyone wishing to hear the liveplay-by-play of any Brewster Whitecaps, Hyannis Mets, or Wareham Gatemen Home game can do so by calling 1-800-846-4700 and entering their team'sindividual code. (Brewster = 7409 Hyannis = 2602 Wareham = 3956) or by going to that teams's web-site, clicking onto the Teamline logo and following directions

The three participating baseball teams are unique in that none of the teams have an existing radio broadcast. Each team is providing the live play-by-play of their games by utilizing the help of eager volunteer broadcasters.

"Being able to broadcast games over the internet and phone lines through the Teamline Service has allowed the Cape Cod Baseball League to be able to reach out to parents, major league scouts, coaches and fans who aren't ordinarily able to attend games in person," said John Garner, CCBL Director of Broadcasting. "In addition, many fans attending the games listen to the broadcast with their cell phones. We hope that all 10 of the teams will utilize this service next season."

Hyannis, the first Cape League team to join TEAMLINE, has recruited two BU college students who wanted to gain some valuable broadcasting experience. Justin Kutcher and Robert Dietz have volunteered their time and effort to provide a quality Met's broadcast. Justin Kutcher, a native of Connecticut, is a recent graduate of Boston University, where he majored in broadcasting and was sports director of the student radio station there. Robert Dietz finished his junior year at BU and is also a broadcast major there. He is a native of Maryland. Kutcher & Dietz have even produced a number of commercials for local businesses who have
decided to sponsor these new broadcasts.

The Mets have also taken advantage of TRZ's new FREE TEAMLINE service for a select number of games. With FREE TEAMLINE, the Mets (and their sponsors) have 'picked up the tab' for their listeners so that they may listen to the games for FREE. The games that Hyannis plan to make available for FREE include: June 14th vs. Yarmouth-Dennis; June 22nd vs. Falmouth; June 24th vs. Bourne; June 28th vs. Orleans; July 6th vs. Cotuit; July 18th vs. Wareham; and August 6th vs. Yarmouth-Dennis. Hyannis games (free & otherwise) can be heard by dialing 1-800-846-4700 and entering Hyannis' team code: 2602 or by checking out
www.hyannismets.org.

Wareham, the second Cape League team to join the TEAMLINE family recruited a local high school student to do their broadcasts. Parents and fans can hear the live play-by-play of Gatemen home games as they are called by Patrick Gleason. Patrick is a 22 year old lifelong Wareham resident and a graduate of the Wareham School System. In June of this year, Patrick graduated with Honors from UMass - Dartmouth with a Bachelor's Degree in English: Writing/Communication. He will pursue a Master's Degree in Professional Writing in the fall of 2002, also at
UMass - Dartmouth. He has combined his interest in Communication with a love of sports and, in the summer of 2001, did daily summaries of the Cape Cod League for WCAI/WNAN - the Public Radio Station for the Cape and Islands. Patrick's Gatemen broadcasts can be heard by dialing 1-800-846-4700 and entering 3956 as their team code or by checking out www.gatemen.org

Brewster rounds out the list of Cape Cod League teams that participate with the TEAMLINE service. Jared Porter (son of GM Dave Porter) will be calling the play-by-play for the Whitecaps. Jim Nowak, the "Voice of the Whitecaps" and PA announcer for over 11 years will be assisting Jared with some color commentary. Brewster can be heard by dialing 1-800-846-4700 and entering 7409 as their team code or by checking out www.brewsterwhitecaps.org.

Finally, the Cape Cod League has committed to providing their All-Star game to fans and relatives via the FREE TEAMLINE service.
