CCBL All-Star Game
Televised on Fox SportsNet New England
with Broadcast on WXTK Radio
and simulcast on the Internet
CAPE COD, MA-- For the first time in the league’s 117-year history, the Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game, considered the crown jewel of the nation’s premier collegiate summer league, will be televised on Fox SportsNet New England to approximately 3.8 million homes in New England. The game will air twice in prime-time on Fox SportsNet New England, including Tuesday, July 30 from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. and again Saturday, August 3 from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m.
The CCBL All-Star Game, which is scheduled for Saturday, July 27 at 6 p.m. at Whitehouse Field in Harwich, Mass., will also be broadcast on WXTK (95.1 FM) and simulcast on the Internet through Teamline. The game will be broadcast tape delay in its entirety directly following the Boston Red Sox-Detroit Tigers game at 5:05 p.m.
"We are excited about having the Cape League All-Star Game televised
regionally on Fox SportsNet New England and also broadcast on WXTK Radio," said CCBL President Judy Walden Scarafile. In addition, parents, coaches and fans from all over the country will be able to listen to the game on the Internet or by calling the Teamline Service 800 number.
The CCBL mid-summer classic will be produced by New England’s preeminent sports production group, Boston Bureau Productions (BBP). As the official production unit of the New England Patriots, BBP has secured numerous Emmy awards for sports production. The CCBL All-Star Game will be presented in a Major League broadcast style.
Former Boston Red Sox and current Minnesota Wild announcer Bob Kurtz will provide television play-by-play, while former New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins third baseman Mike Pagliarulo, who performed in the Cape League during college, will be the color analyst. Bob Gately of Boston Bureau Productions will serve as executive producer.
The CCBL All-Star Game will also be produced by Boch Broadcasting and aired on WXTK (95.1 FM), a 50,000 watt radio station reaching homes in a 60-mile radius, including Cape Cod, southeastern Massachusetts and northern Rhode Island. Former radio personality and Cape Cod Times sports reporter Geoff Converse will provide radio play-by-play, while CCBL Director of Broadcasting John Garner will be color analyst. Greg Cassidy of Boch Broadcasting will serve as executive producer and director.
The radio broadcast will be simulcast for those outside the WXTK listening
audience through the Teamline Service by going to the Cape League website (www.capecodbaseball.org), clicking onto the Teamline logo and following directions or by calling 1-800-846-4700 and entering 6909 as the team code. The Cape Cod Baseball League features the nation’s top collegiate players and currently features 184 alumni performing in the major leagues, including CCBL Hall of Fame inductees Darin Erstad, Nomar Garciaparra, Chuck Knoblauch, Jason Varitek, Mo Vaughn and Robin Ventura.
