New Slate of Officers Elected
Paul Galop named Commissioner


CAPE COD, Mass. – The Cape Cod Baseball League Board of Directors elected a new slate of officers for 2003 - 2004, including new commissioner Paul Galop, a long-time Chatham A's president, treasurer and PA announcer. Galop, who served as chair of the CCBL Hall of Fame committee its first three years, was the unanimous choice of the board and replaces Bob Stead, who resigned from the post after five years at the helm.

     Other officers either elected or re-elected were Judy Walden Scarafile to her 13th consecutive term as president; Jim Higgins, senior vice president; vice presidents Phil Edwards and Peter Ford; treasurer Steve Wilson, secretary Kim Wolfe, directors-at-large Jack Aylmer, Ken Borden, Dick Bresciani, Tom Cahir, Barbara Ellsworth, Art Hyland, Arnold Mycock, Richard Marr, former commissioner Bob Stead, and Dick Sullivan. Archie Allen and Worcester Meriam were selected honorary directors-at-large.


Changes in CCBL Schedule Approved

     The Cape League board of directors and executive committee approved a recommendation by the Scheduling Committee to begin the CCBL regular season four days later to June 17, with the All-Star Game slated for Saturday, July 31 at Orleans and the regular season to end August 8, the playoffs begin Aug. 10 and to end no later than Aug. 15. The scheduling committee is also considering additional changes in the future.
