CHATHAM, Mass. -- Long-time coach, administrator and student-athlete Bob Corradiwill be presented with the Fred Ebbett Lifetime Achievement Award at the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony brunch on Nov. 10 at the Chatham Bars Inn.

Now in his fifth decade at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, there isn’t much Coach Corradi hasn’t accomplished during his 40 seasons as the Buccaneers’ baseball coach or 40-plus years with the Cape Cod Baseball League.

While winning more than 500 games at MMA and ranking among the top 30 active college baseball coaches, the energetic Corradi led expansion efforts of the Cape League to Bourne and Brewster in the late 1980’s. In addition, Corradi provided home field at the Academy for the Braves’ inaugural season in 1988. Corradi helped the Braves to the Western Division crown in 1989.
A founding member of the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame Committee, Corradi has devoted his time and talent for more than a quarter-century overall to insure the CCBL continues to grow and prosper.

“Bob was instrumental providing his knowledge and experience having started the Mass Maritime Hall of Fame,” said CCBL Senior VP and Hall of Fame Chair Jim Higgins.  “Calling upon those experiences, Bob helped us avoid problems usually associated with start up operations and helped us establish the Cape Cod Baseball League induction ceremony as something extra special.”

A 1967 graduate of the UMass-Amherst, Corradi coached Senior Babe Ruth and piloted the successful Post 188 American Legion team that has produced numerous collegiate standouts and current major leaguer Steve Cishek of the Miami Marlins.

Corradi has been presented with numerous awards during his career, including the Jack Butterfield (father of new Red Sox coach Brian Butterfield) Award and the Andy Baylock Award for distinguished service to New England collegiate baseball.

The Fred Ebbett Lifetime Achievement Award is a highly coveted recognition by the CCBL Hall of Fame Committee. Integrity, professionalism, sense of fairness and a high level of respect were attributes shown by former commissioner and field manager Ebbett and naming this award in his honor is indicative of how important this award is. This award recognizing a significant franchise volunteer, was named in 2003 in recognition of contributions made to the CCBL by the late Fred Ebbett, an inductee in the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame.
