Day Two Cape League Round Up

Due to inclement weather during the day, three of the five games set to play were postponed. The two games that played happened in Y-D where the Anglers traveled to play the Red Sox, and Harwich at Wareham. The games that were postponed will be rescheduled to the following dates -
Bourne at Cotuit rescheduled for Monday, June 18th at 5PM at Cotuit.
Brewster at Orleans rescheduled for Monday, June 25th at 7 PM at Orleans.
Hyannis at Falmouth rescheduled for Thursday, June 28th at 6 PM at Falmouth.


Chatham at Yarmouth-Dennis

The 5:00PM game between the Anglers and Sox ended in a 1-1 tie last night, with both runs coming in the bottom of the second and top of the third. Charlie Concannon from St. Joseph’s started things up for Y-D in the bottom of the second with a single, eventually coming around to score on a wild pitch. Greg Jones from UNC-Wilmington hit a solo blast for Chatham in the top of the third. Chatham will visit Brewster tonight at 5:00 PM, and the Red Sox will travel to Orleans for the 7:00 PM game.

Harwich at Wareham

A solid pitching performance from Ken Waldichuck from St. Mary’s College and a walk-off sacrifice fly from Bryant Packard from East Carolina gave Wareham the edge over Harwich, 3-2. The game lasted just over three hours on a cloudy, windy night on the Cape. Harwich has Jack Dreyer going tonight, and will take on the Harbor Hawks in Hyannis at McKeon Park at 6:00 PM. Wareham has Mason Feole on the hill when they host the Cotuit Kettleers at 6:30 PM.
