Yarmouth Port, MA – June 27, 2020. The Cape Cod Baseball League has partnered with the Cape Cod Resilience Fund in raising money by selling branded COVID-19 facemasks and donating all the profits to the Cape Cod Resilience Fund.

“We were humbled that the Cape Cod Baseball League wanted to collaborate with us,” said Amanda Converse, Love Live Local CEO. “The league is an institution here on Cape Cod, and it’s great that they wanted to show small businesses thank you for the support over the years.”

The Cape Cod Resilience Fund was launched in April of 2020 by local business advocacy group Love Live Local and the Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District in response to the devastating effects of strict guidelines for business operations on the region’s small business community.

“We knew the funding that would be available through the government wasn’t going to take care of all the economic impact the pandemic would cause,” said Converse.

The Cape Cod Resilience Fund will be issuing grants to eligible Cape Cod small businesses to supplement day-to-day operational expenses. They have raised over $50,000 so far, with a goal to raise a total of $100,000 by the end of August. The Cape Cod Baseball League hopes to assist them in reaching that goal, with the help of fans around the league, by selling the COVID-19 facemasks.

“We are so grateful for the support of the local Cape Cod  businesses to the league and the teams over the years, and are delighted that we have the  opportunity to give back to them with this partnership,” said the Cape League’s Senior Vice President, Bill Bussiere.
