July 7th Cape Cod Baseball League Wrap Up
After a Friday full of rain, Saturday’s forecast proved to be a perfect one for a day full of action in the Cape League.
Hyannis (12-8-2): 3 at Cotuit (10-10-1): 8
Cotuit was provided with a great start by John Baker who went six innings allowing just one run on six hits to give the offense a chance to scrap some runs together; They did just that. The Kettleers used two run scoring singles and a hit by pitch to bring in another for a three-run second inning to take a 3-0 lead. Baker held off the Hawks until the fifth inning after giving up a Davis Wendzel solo shot to make the score 6-1. Cotuit answered with two in the bottom half to make it 8-1. Hyannis put together a run in the seventh and eighth, but it was not nearly enough to make the comeback.
