| The Cape
Cod Baseball League is
a non-profit tax exempt 501 (c) (3) organization run by volunteers. It
costs more than $600,000 per year to finance League activities and operations. The League
finances special events such as the annual All-Star Game and Hall of Fame
ceremonies. It
also funds the costs of wooden bats, balls, umpires, scorers, statistics services,
League publications, merchandise and administration.
In turn, each of the ten franchises must raise an additional $100,000 - $400,000 per year to run its individual organization. This amount covers coaching salaries, player travel, uniforms, field maintenance and equipment, franchise publications, concession and souvenir items, and administration. The League is dependent upon yearly grants, donations and corporate sponsors.
