Find My Event Tickets to CBI events this Weekend Article By: For anyone who thinks the Cape is quiet in the winter and spring or the Cape League is “slow in the offseason” … well, they need to pick up the Cape Cod Times or check the various Chamber websites. There is so much going on it would make your head spin. For instance, this weekend alone (Sunday, April 27 to be exact), there are two fundraisers at Chatham Bars Inn, both displaying the Red Sox trophies, both to benefit the Cape League. So in just 36 hours, all three Boston Red Sox trophies will be on display under one roof….and for the first time on Cape Cod!! The Trophy event at CBI on Sunday is from 11- 2pm on Sunday and this includes a ball park lunch! Donations are requested $5 for kids under 10 and $10 for adults and $25 for a family. The donation is tax deductible and 100% of the proceeds will support scholarships for the youth clinics that each of the 10 teams put on. Then starting at 5pm Chatham Bars Inn is hosting “ Baseball and Beer – An Evening with Dr. Charles Steinberg.” This will take place in the beautiful water view dining room with a 3- course meal paired with various beers. Dr Charles is a natural- born speaker. His anecdotal stories are captivating and he is very funny. He has been in baseball all of his life, so you can imagine what he has seen and what stories he has to tell. As a real bonus to the evening, Dick Flavin, the renowned baseball humorist, will be in attendance to recite some of his clever and unique poetry. Without a doubt this promises to be a very special night. Tickets are $95 and still available. Again, the proceeds will support the youth clinics for each and every team.
