CAPE COD - After more than three decades serving in various roles with the Cape Cod Baseball League and Hyannis Mets, Bill Bussiere will be stepping down effective December 31, 2021. Bussiere has served as Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Development for the past eight years.

His impact on the League during that time has been incalculable. Monies raised through corporate partnerships is paramount to the League’s success, and during his time as Corporate Development Director, Bussiere has raised over $4,000,000 to pay for field improvements, safety netting, transportation, trainer support, and COVID protocols--just to name a few.

“Bill and I have worked together for thirty years. It’s been a tremendous, rewarding experience to work with him. Corporate development is such a critical aspect of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Bill took the job eight years ago under difficult circumstances, and it’s been a saving grace that we’ve had someone like him in charge,” said League President Chuck Sturtevant.

Ben Brink, who currently manages the League’s Public Relations department, will take on the role of Director of Corporate Development on January 1. He comes with over a decade of experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, and marketing – the last three years of which have been with the Cape Cod Baseball League.

“Working with Bill over the last few years has been incredible,” said Brink. “I have big shoes to fill, and I could not be more excited to get started.”

Michael Lane, who has spent the last three years working within the Public Relations department, will take over as Director of Public Relations in January. A loyal fan of the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox since age 4, Lane joined the CCBL as an intern in 2019, and has served as the League’s social media coordinator since 2020.

“I’m very excited to assume the role of Director of Public Relations,” said Lane.  “I’ve loved the Cape League since I was a kid, and it’s a tremendous honor to be a part of this organization and to continue to grow the League’s public image.”
