Position: 2022 Cape Cod Baseball League Official Scorer

Description: The Cape Cod Baseball League is the nation’s premier college summer baseball league. The league is seeking motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented official scorers across most Cape Cod venues. Duties require tracking live game action and making official scoring decisions that enable the collection of league statistics using Pointstreak scoring software. Official scoring decisions must be announced to the press box.

Responsibilities:

Acquire next games pitching information from team officials.
Monitor and record all game action on a pitch by pitch level.
Work with the league statistician to ensure post game accuracy of statistics.
Arrive at games at least 45 minutes prior to first pitch and remain through the final out.

Qualifications:

Strong computer skills to operate the scoring program and troubleshoot when necessary
Interest in baseball and knowledge of the rules
Reliable transportation to get to Cape Cod fields (Games June 12 - August 13)
Current housing on or near Cape Cod

Nice to Haves:

Previous official scoring experience at any level
Previous experience with Pointstreak software

Note:

This is a seasonal opportunity, no benefits are provided.
Travel is not reimbursed.
A virtual conference training session will be required prior to the start of the season and will be paid.

Compensation:

This is a paid position at $60 per game.
