Mid-Season Report

It’s hard to believe that we have now passed the half-way point in our 2007 season. The Bourne Braves in the Western Division and the reigning CCBL champion Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the Eastern Division have bolted out of the gate and enjoy comfortable leads in their respective divisions. All ten teams are well within the realm of making the playoffs and the final three weeks of the season should be exciting and pressure packed.

Our annual All-Star Game will be played at Spillane Field in Wareham on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 6PM. But be sure to come early, about 2PM, and enjoy the exciting batting practice exhibition of the finest collegiate players in the nation. The Home Run Hitting Contest is always popular and considering the talent in our league this year, this home run derby should be an extraordinary event this year.

All-Star Selection Saturday is on July 21st and we all anxiously await the announcement of the members. Our annual All-Star classic usually has over 100 Major League Baseball scouts in attendance and we again anticipate another big turnout.

Our video-streaming of most games was a new initiative this year and the response from fans across America has been overwhelmingly favorable. We are pleased and excited to not only offer this service which compliments our audio broadcast, but we continue to add enhancements to maximize the production to enjoyable standards.

So as we start the “playoff-stretch” the excitement builds. Will your favorite team make the playoffs and play before crowds that are similar to the 2006 season that were record-breaking and exceeding 8,000 fans per game? Will the “hot” team win it all again, regardless of where they finished the regular season? Which of these talented players will be the first to make it to the Major Leagues? Did you know that there are currently nearly 200 Major Leaguers that once played in the Cape Cod Baseball League? Why not come out to any of our ten ballparks and enjoy the excitement of these thrilling pennant races at no cost? Yes, our games continue to be FREE!! It’s the best deal in New England for wholesome family entertainment and we can assure you that once you visit a Cape Cod Baseball League game, you will be hooked for good.

We appreciate the phenomenal support of you, our loyal fans and can’t wait to see you at the next game. We are delighted to provide these games and appreciate the steady influx of positive comments we get from our visitors, whether it is from your first visit or our repeated guests. It never gets old for us to say THANK YOU to the greatest supporters any organization could ever ask for. Best wishes!!
