Allbry Major (Xavier U)
The bats were present and effective for the Ketleers in their last few outings, headlined by their 17 runs in just three games. Perhaps the focal point of their offensive dominance as of late has been outfielder Allbry Major, who’s making his debut season in Cape Cod. This past Friday, Major erupted for three hits at the expense of Brewster, while adding a run on the day as well. Two days later, he added another hit to go along with an RBI against the Red Sox of Yarmouth-Dennis. Despite being a mere one week into the season, a .571 average looks quite impressive, and Major’s team is in second place in the West Division.
Hunter Goodman (Memphis U of)
Hyannis may be in last place, but a glowing positive for the Harbor Hawks has been the play of Hunter Goodman. The weekend started off well for Goodman, who earned two runs and two RBIs this past Friday. During the following two games, the righty racked up another two hits. Goodman’s portrayed his power in the first week of the season as well, as two of his hits have left the ballpark.
Darren Baker (California Berkeley)
From start to finish, Darren Baker has been as effective as it gets for the Wareham Gatemen. In a 4-4 tie against Orleans, his two hits led his team on the day. Less than 24 hours later, the statsheet belonged to Baker as well with three hits and an RBI. On Sunday, the team went up against Chatham in a finals rematch from a season ago. In the all important doubleheader, Baker recorded another three hits as his team climbed to 4-1-1.
Jorge Arenas (Stetson U)
The fans at Veterans Field have gotten quite familiar with Jorge Arenas, as the infielder is in the midst of his second stint with the Anglers. Arenas was effective for the A’s in his first campaign, and this upcoming season looks to be a bright one as well. The Stetson product had himself a solid performance on Friday, and added another two hits against the Red Sox the next day. To conclude the three day stretch, he picked up another hit to go along with a run against Wareham, bringing his average to .429 on the young season.
