The Cape Cod Baseball League is delighted to be a beneficiary of this years' Seaside Le Mans.   In a year of so many unknowns, we cannot say enough about the efforts of the Davenport Companies, the Seaside LeMans commitee, and most especially the generous donors who made this happen despite COVID-19.  This donation will enable our ten franchises to offer clinics to hundreds of children who would not have been able to participate.

Thanks to the following organizations for stepping up to the plate:
Cape Cod Healthcare, Bridge Creek Capital Management, TD Bank, Cape Cod Commercial Linen Service, Coca-Cola, Topneck Design, The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, Axial Benefits Group, Lawrence-Lynch Corp., Mid-Cape Home Centers , US Foods, Boston Textile, Cape Cod Insulation and Prism Hospitality Consulting

SEASIDE LE MANS – THE RACE FOR THE CAPE COD COMMUNITY TO DISTRIBUTE $100,000 TO LOCAL NON-PROFITS

(SOUTH YARMOUTH, MA) – When the announcement was made in July that the 2020 Seaside Le Mans – The Race For The Cape Cod Community would be cancelled because of COVID-19, the organizers pledged that money would still be raised for this year’s beneficiaries.

Since then, the outpouring of support from sponsors who wanted to donate even though the race at Mashpee Commons would not take place has been tremendous and heartening.

Through the generosity of several companies and organizations, Seaside Le Mans is excited to announce that $100,000 will be distributed to five local non-profits across Cape Cod.

The expression of support by sponsors of the event, which would have celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2020, is a testament to the true sprit of “giving back” that was part of the first race two decades ago.

The $100,000 will be distributed between the Cape Cod Baseball League (Youth Clinic Scholarships), Cape Cod Healthcare (Hospice Services), Cape Cod Military Support Foundation (Enhanced Services for Military Families), Cape Cod Museum of Natural History (Youth Education Programs), and Cape Kid Meals (Expanded Weekend Hunger Relief Program).

“The need for all the beneficiaries did not go away after the COVID-19 outbreak and we knew it would be crucial to still find a way to provide a level of funding for those organizations,” said DeWitt Davenport, founder of the Seaside Le Mans and CEO of The Davenport Companies, which underwrites the entire cost of the event.

Over the past two decades, the annual fundraising and community event featuring Formula 1 karts driven by local business sponsors has generated more than $7.5 million for 50 non-profit organizations on Cape Cod. This year’s race had been scheduled for September 12, 2020.

“In fact, for many local non-profits, the pandemic has only made their mission even more critical. We are so pleased that several sponsors stepped forward to continue their charitable giving and assist this year’s Seaside Le Mans beneficiaries,” said Davenport.

As always, 100% of support will go directly to the critical work of the beneficiaries through the Cape Cod Foundation.

The following organizations made generous donations that will fund this year’s beneficiaries:
Cape Cod Healthcare, Bridge Creek Capital Management, TD Bank, Cape Cod Commercial Linen Service, Coca-Cola, Topneck Design, The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, Axial Benefits Group, Lawrence-Lynch Corp., Mid-Cape Home Centers , US Foods, Boston Textile, Cape Cod Insulation and Prism Hospitality Consulting.
