Dodgers 8 - Rays 3 (Dodgers Lead Series 1-0)

The Dodgers are back in the World Series for the third time in four years. The last time the Dodgers made the Fall Classic, in 2018, Mookie Betts was wrecking havoc for the Red Sox. This year, with Betts on their side, the Dodgers have taken an early 1-0 series lead. The Dodgers offense exploded in the fifth inning scoring four runs to expand their lead to 6-1. Max Muncy (Wareham ’10), Will Smith (Brewster ’15), and Chris Taylor (YD ’11) drove in three of the four runs for Los Angeles in that fifth inning. Muncy added another RBI double in the sixth inning driving in Justin Turner (YD ’05.) Joe Kelly (YD ’08) closed out the Game 1 victory with a scoreless ninth inning. The Rays will look to bounce back tonight and tie the series up with their ace Blake Snell on the mound.
