For nearly 20 years Curry College has been a sponsor of the Cape Cod Baseball League, remaining a constant presence through league leadership changes, the financial challenges caused by the pandemic, and multiple eras of baseball.

Tonight, June 30th, the Cape League and Curry College will celebrate this partnership with "Curry College Night" at Guv Fuller Field. Students, faculty, alumni, and other members of the Curry family will celebrate a night at the ballpark as the Falmouth Commodores host the Bourne Braves at 7pm.

Curry College is a private institution that offers 27 undergraduate majors and five master's degrees. In addition to their main campus located in Milton, just seven miles from downtown Boston, they have a second campus located in Plymouth.

At Curry College, everyone who is involved within the school does feel like a family. That has never been more evident than the past two years at Curry, as they have tried navigate best possible the challenges of COVID-19. Beginning in the fall of 2020, Curry College returned to some in-person classes with students back on campus. Achieving this required the cooperation of everyone in the community to ensure a safe environment for faculty and students.

"It was tremendously challenging at times," said Curry College President Ken Quigley. "But the community came together, even stronger to respond to the challenge and make sure Curry students had as close to a full experience as was possible."

In his 26 years as President of Curry College, Quigley has overseen the college triple in size and add numerous new programs. He has also served as a Honorary Director for the Cape Cod Baseball League. Despite all the changes and growth at Curry and in the CCBL, the highlight of his job has not changed over time.

"The best part of this job is the people. I never cease to be amazed at the remarkable things students do to help themselves, to help others, and to help the college. Young people today are so committed to the service of others that I think it bodes well for the future," said Quigley.

Perhaps the biggest piece in the longterm relationship between the Cape League and Curry College is the heavy involvement in the community from both parties, creating a natural fit.

"It still comes down to people, the people who play in the league, all the terrific volunteers, the people who host the student athletes, and most importantly the fans. It's a terrific part of Cape Cod in the summer time," said President Quigley.

Thank you to Curry College for their support of preserving summer baseball on Cape Cod for fans of all ages to enjoy. Learn more about Curry College here or come out to Guv Fuller Field tonight and meet some of the amazing Curry community at the ballpark!
