Rays 2 - Astros 1 (Tampa Bay Leads Series 1-0)
Back in the ALCS for the first time since 2008, the Rays took an early series lead with a Game 1 victory Sunday night. Houston struck first with a solo home run in the top half of the first inning. The Rays would tie it up in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run of their own. In the fifth inning, Mike Zunino (YD ’11) came to the plate with two outs and a runner on third. Zunino delivered for Tampa Bay with a go-ahead RBI single that would ultimately be the game winning run. Ryan Thompson (Bourne ’13) pitched a scoreless inning of relief and got a hold, as part of the Rays bullpen that threw a combined four scoreless innings to close out their Game 1 victory.
