Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox defeat the Brewster Whitecaps (Yarmouth-Dennis Wins Series 2-1)

To conclude the first round of the CCBL playoffs, Red Wilson Field hosted the final faceoff between the Brewster Whitecaps and the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.

The YD- Red Sox had the early lead, scoring in the bottom of the first, but in the top of the second Brock Tibbits blasted a 417 foot shot into left center, tying the game for the Whitecaps. The tie was broken by Brewster's own Jared Jones who hit an RBI groundout sending James Tibbs home.

With a comeback 3-3 tie in the fifth inning, the game was neck and neck until Theo Hardy’s home run in the bottom of the eighth inning gave Yarmouth-Dennis the lead, making Hardy the hero of the game.

Hardy’s homer was the final push needed to seal the deal for the YD-Red Sox, thus ending the Brewster Whitecaps 2023 season with a 4-3 final score.
