The 2023 Cape League Playoffs have come to an end, and for the second year in a row, the Bourne Braves have been crowned champions. A second-year member of the Bravos was crowned Playoff MVP, with second baseman Josh Kuroda-Grauer taking home the honors this year.

Kuroda-Grauer was completely dominant throughout the entire playoff run, hitting safely in each of Bourne’s eight playoff games, with all but two being multi-hit performances. The Rutgers infielder slashed .444/.488/.750 in Bourne’s postseason run, fueling their championship performance. Being a second-year Brave, Kuroda-Grauer understood the significance of the honor he earned.

“It’s awesome. To win such a prestigious award in such a great league is awesome. I went through a lot in the regular season but my coaches and my teammates kept their belief in me and put me in [this] position.”

Kuroda-Grauer excelled throughout the entirety of Bourne’s postseason run. He led the playoffs in RBI with 13, as well as hits with 16. JKG also posted six extra-base hits, including two home runs. He also topped the runs created leaderboard, posting 13.5 in just 42 plate appearances. Kuroda-Grauer absolutely showed out during the playoffs, leaving no doubt as to who this summer’s Playoff MVP would be.
