Bourne defeats Cotuit 14-8 (Bourne Wins Series 2-0)

Mayhem broke out last night at Doran Park, with the Braves and Kettleers fighting with everything in them to end the game, ultimately needing 11 innings to settle Game Two.

Although the Kettleers started off strong, with both Cole Mathis and Trotter Harlan putting up two hits to give Cotuit an early lead, Bourne would respond. By the end of the fifth inning, Bourne had woken up at the plate. Then, down to their final strike, Bryce Eblin delivered a game-tying single to send the game to extra innings.

Soon, the Kettleers fell to the Braves with a sac fly by Josh Kuroda-Grauer, sending Jonathon Vastine home in the bottom of the 11th inning. The win sent the Braves on to the West Division Finals for a third straight year.

Yarmouth-Dennis defeats Brewster 3-1 (Tied Series 1-1)

In a turn of events in Game Two at Stony Brook Field, the Brewster Whitecaps had seemingly switched roles with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, with the Whitecaps offense being held quiet all evening.

Starting on the mound for the Y-D Red Sox was Finnegan Wall, who went a total of six scoreless and no-hit innings before being relieved by Boston Maebus to close. Skylar King's small ball got the scoring started for the YD, taking the lead and not giving it up.

The now tied series will be decided this afternoon at Red Wilson Field at 4pm.

Hyannis Harbor Hawks defeats Falmouth Commodores 9-7 (Hyannis Wins Series 2-0)

Also in the West division, Falmouth and Hyannis joined in on the extra inning fun.

The game was seemingly neck and neck up until the middle of the 8th when Trey Lipsey scored on a throw down to second, giving Hyannis their first lead of the night.

After tying it up in the 9th inning, Falmouth’s arms just couldn’t bring back control in extra innings when Lipsey reemerged, giving a 2-run lead to the Harbor Hawks. This sealed Falmouth's fate and clinched a spot in the West Division finals for Hyannis.

The Harbor Hawks ended with a 9-7 score over the Commodores.

Orleans defeats Harwich Mariners 4-2 (Orleans Wins Series 2-0)

Orleans hammered the final nail in Harwich’s coffin last night in Game Two of the first round series. The hero of game one, Jack Penny, scored the first run of the game kicking off unstoppable momentum for Orleans.

In the third inning for the Mariners, Kevin Keister hit a sac fly to drive in Talmadge Lecroy followed by an Ethan Anderson RBI single to drive in Danniel Rivera. This gave them the lead, but Orleans would answer in the eighth taking the lead and closing out the series in two games.

The Firebirds dugout was full of energy as they celebrated their 4-2 victory over the Mariners, who struggled to close out both games this series.
